Mississippi Wine ~ Alabama Whiskey was the product of a spur of the moment writing excursion the band took back in the summer of 2010. Along for the ride to document the trip were our friends Ryan Munson and Kelly Tippett. Initially, the band traveled down to the city of Columbus, Mississippi to set up shop at the Princess Theater. After a few rough days there, the guys went down to Gulf Shores, Alabama to soak up the sun and get inspired. The majority of the album was done during this time between the Gulf House and Fort Morgan. All the songs were recorded live with no overdubs to a Tascam 388 1/4" 8 track machine, which was generously loaned to us by the incomparable, Reverend Carter Mchann.
